alt

For the past 19 years, the Filipino Club Darwin, Inc. (FCDI) headed by Lady Fele Mann, has been continuously extending financial assistance to the abandoned and neglected children in the Philippines.  The FCDI is a non-profit organization based in Northern Territory, Australia composed mostly of Filipinos, but have Australians as members. They conduct regular fund raising activities such as the Charity Gala Night and Beauty Pageant, a noble fundraising project to help the less fortunate in the Philippines and Australia.

Since it started in 1993, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) has been assisting the FCDI in finding potential beneficiaries for its donations, and serving as the organization’s conduit in the Philippines.  This year, FCDI donated cash amounting to Php 44,650.00 to support the operations of four orphanages in the country.

The Rainbow Village Ministries based in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, which is a home for abandoned children.  It currently has, in its care, six toddlers and nine infants.

The Precious Heritage Ministries Foundation based in Antipolo City, which    caters to 29 abandoned and neglected children currently living and studying at the campus.

Carmelite Nuns of the Holy Spirit based in Sta. Cruz, Laguna,  which provides food, clothing and education to 50 abandoned children.

Asociacion de Damas Filipinas based in Manila, which is a home for orphaned and abandoned children.  It currently has, in its care, 18 children ages 1 year to 6 years old.

The FCDI has also previously supported indigent Filipino students through the CFO’s Adopt-a-Scholar Project.
